About the Job

We are looking for Designers with 3–5 years of professional experience to join our growing Madrid hub as Freelancers. This role is ideal for someone passionate about people-centered design, public realm, and urban life. You will contribute to a wide range of projects, supporting design development, research, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of masterplanning and urban design proposals aligned with Gehl‘s people-first approach

• Contribute to research, analysis, and documentation of public life and urban conditions

• Produce high-quality drawings, diagrams, presentations, and visual materials

• Collaborate with internal teams across strategy, urban design, and landscape

• Participate in workshops, stakeholder meetings, and co-creation processes

• Assist in translating insights into design concepts and actionable recommendations

• Ensure consistency with project goals, timelines, and quality standards

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience in architecture and urban design

• Degree in Architecture or Urban Design (Marsters degree recommended)

• Strong design and visual communication skills

• Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, and/or other relevant 2D and 3D design software

• Experience with research-driven or human-centered design approaches is a plus

• Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary, and international environment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
