Unsolicited Internships
About the job
We are looking for curious and motivated interns who are passionate about creating cities for people to join our offices in New York and San Francisco. The positions are full time for 3 months usually starting in June(start and end dates are flexible). In some cases, internships can be extended.
As an interdisciplinary firm that works across design, policy, strategy, and research we seek candidates who have demonstrated interest and experience in developing projects that span across disciplines and advance people-first urbanism.
Who are we looking for
Applicants should be entering their final year of studies in a masters program in urban design, urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture or other field related to design and behaviour in cities.
We are especially interested in candidates that have experience working and studying at the intersection of spatial planning/design and social science, environmental policy, social equity, or public health.
For architects, landscape architects, and urban designers knowledge of Rhino and Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is a requirement.
Familiarity with visualization and data processing are a plus (e.g. Enscape, V-ray, Grasshopper, QGIS, Tableau, Python, AutoCAD).
Candidates are expected to work in person from either our New York or San Francisco studio. Full remote work is not possible for these positions.
Applicants must be fluent in English. Fluency in Spanish, or other languages are a plus.
Applicants must already be authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of the internship.
What do we offer?
A chance to work on high-profile, unique, and varied projects with a diverse and experienced team from one of the global leaders in people-first urban development.
An opportunity to experience real client interaction with the different parties involved in the design process.
For applicants graduating in 2025, successful internships may be extended up to six months to provide an opportunity for preferential consideration for appropriate full-time salaried positions, as they become available.
